Daily Intake of God’s Word by Ho King Swee dated 15.2.15

Bro. Ho shared that in the US about 18% Christians read the Bible, 23% never read it while only about 50 to 60% read it occasionally.  He believes these statistics are the same here.

Why? He believes there are two main reasons:

  1. Lack of fear or God and love of God
  2. We do not have clear goals in our lives

When God gave the law to Moses He knew people will ask for a king. Deuteronomy 17:14, 17, 19.  Most kings did not obey God’s command example not to have more than one wife.  We usually compliant we do not have time to read.  In Joshua 1:8 he was instructed to meditate on God’s Word day and night although he was busy leading the people.  Meditation is like food for the soul.  We are to assimilate to nourish our soul.
