The Work of Home Mission Board by Pastor Daniel Kion dated 8.2.15

Pastor Daniel and his wife Pastor Seria together with about 40 students came to our church this morning to share with us.

Pastor Seria runs the School of Youth Ministry (SYM). The school train youths in discipleship and leadership.  This is to help these young people to choose the right path in particular following Jesus in their lives.  In this school they are given opportunity to lead worship & conduct camps.

A student Timothy shared his testimony.  He was rebellious and drop out of his form 5.  He used to mix with bad people until he came to SYM.  His life changed after attending and now he committed himself to study to be a pastor.  He has enrolled in a Bible school in Sabah and now he is back here to help the present SYM students.  Praise God for him!

The SYM students are very talented in music and performances.  They sang a Gospel song accompanied by a few tambourine dancers.

Pastor Daniel explained that the vision of HMB is to “Transform Sarawak for Christ” through several strategies.

Acts 3
Pastor Daniel shared a message from Acts chapter 3, the story of Peter and John healing the crippled at the temple.  The crippled was expecting to be given money but Peter and John told him they did not have any possessions.  In Vs. 6 Peter said “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you”.  If Peter and John had given any possession to him most probably he will not know God.  Peter and John also told him to look at them.  Pastor Daniel shared as they directed the crippled to look at them, we also can learn from this message.  That is to look upon God.  We have God in us.  Let our lives be example to the others especially the non- believers.  Show them the God in us. We don’t even have to share the Gospel  with them.  He said we are like living Bible.
